Would installing i the first time have created anything in the registry that would have been left behind in the uninstall and would it be blocking the computer from detecting this as new hardware?

(I have used this adapter card and software before, so I know how to get it to connect when it is working properly.)I used the uninstall to uninstall it, but it didn't work. It removed most of the files, but in the 'program add/remove' window (in control panel), the Linksys software is still listed. Using 'program add/remove' to try to remove the Linksys software also doesn't work. It acts as if it is removing the software and then shows a message that says the software is 100% removed, but, after rebooting, the software is still listed in the 'program add/remove' list. The WMP54G CD won't reinstall the software. Instead it says the software is already installed. How to find whatever WMP54G software file(s) are left on my computer and tell me how to manually remove them.

I uninstalled the device and windows called the device MCF-J415W and when I tried to update the drivers again it said the drivers were not correct. I'm not sure what is going on here and why linksys doesn't just have a .exe driver installer. Also I tried selecting the driver from the list of pre-loaded drivers and found one for the exact device but it would not install those either.

I have the PCI adapter installed on my computer. I have installed the driver and my computer recognizes the adapter, can see the network I want to connect to.. but will NOT connect.I have 9 other wireless devices connected with no issues. But the PCI adapter will not work.
